The incumbent must have a thorough and effective mix of technical skills in the geographic and computer science disciplines . Incumbent Identifies requirements and implements advanced analytical techniques necessary to solve complex GIS issues and develops and modifies GIS software applications and interfaces. This position falls under the group coverage qualification standards for Administrative and Management positions there is no Individual Occupation Requirement for this position.

KSA 4: Ability to clearly communicate about GIS applications with planners, resource specialist, managers, peers, and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary groups.

Specialized experience for the GS-9 level - 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 in the federal service in Geographic Information System Specialist (GIS) work. At this level, recurring assignments that are independently performed are more difficult and complex than those performed at the lower grade level. Examples of specialized experience includes: assisting in GIS data collection and preparation; data entry/digitizing of GIS data.
Specialized experience for the GS-11 level - 1 year of GIS Specialist or directly related work experience equivalent to GS-9 in the Federal service. At this level, the incumbent performs difficult & responsible work under general supervision. The work requires a thorough & fundamental knowledge of a special & complex subject matter of the profession involved. Examples: serve as lead GIS expert for an organization; plan & coordinate multiple projects for subordinate offices; develop new procedures for map production.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
