Advise and assist student-athletes in the development and pursuit of academic degree programs that maximize their abilities and interests. Ensure that student-athletes enroll in courses that meet NCAA satisfactory progress requirements. Monitor student-athletes' progress on such courses and track progress toward degree requirements during the academic year. Monitor student-athlete schedules for 12-hour load and declaration of baccalaureate degree program. Work with Program Development and Retention Coordinator to enhance the life of the student-athlete through educational programs and resources focusing on life skills. Work with the Office of International Programs/Admissions in assisting international student-athletes with transfer status, etc. Assist student-athletes with the technology available for self-enrollment and ensure equal access to technology for all student-athletes.
Administer certification of freshman eligibility utilizing the NCAA Initial-Eligibility Clearinghouse by serving as Clearinghouse primary contact. Interpret institutional policy in regard to degree requirements, course sequencing and prerequisites. Work with transfer student-athletes to determine transferable degree credits and enrollment in degree credit courses upon transfer.
Bachelor's degree in Guidance/Counseling, Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Administration, Secondary School Education or related field required.
Master's degree in Guidance/Counseling, Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education Administration, Secondary School Education or related field preferred.
Education may be substituted for experience or experience may be substituted for education based on the following equivalencies: AA = 2 years; BS/BA = 4 years; MS/MA = 6 years; and PhD = 8 years.
One (1) year work experience in academic advisement, NCAA eligibility certification, guidance/counseling, student services or related field required. Two (2) years experience preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
