This position serves in a lead program management role within the global sourcing quality function.
The Senior Sourcing Program Leader drives the implementation and execution of sourcing technologies and processes/procedures to ensure success of sourcing initiatives. The Senior Sourcing Program Leader will work closely with Sourcing leaders across all divisions of Thermo Fisher and with all Strategic suppliers to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of sourcing solutions and processes deployed to meet sourcing goals and objectives.
The Senior Sourcing Program Leader will understand the strategic sourcing process and be responsible for utilizing current sourcing technologies to improve efficiencies, supplier performance, and the achievement of a high level of savings. This position will optimize processes, systems and training to meet customer needs & system requirements. This position will support global quality, Direct Materials and eSourcing initiatives and act as liaison between the business needs and system capabilities. This position has a significant potential for growth within the Quality/Sourcing function.
Responsibilities
Assumes a lead role in the Supplier Business Review process and all quality initiatives within Global Sourcing
Provide IT support for the Supplier Business Review Process in Microsoft Sharepoint
Develops and executes training programs pertaining to sourcing technologies as well as core sourcing professional skills
Proactively monitors advancements in sourcing technologies to ensure Thermo Fisher Scientific is aware of leading edge, next wave tools to improve productivity and savings in strategic sourcing
Conducts periodic benchmarking studies to compare Thermo Fisher processes, key performance metrics and best business practices with other industry leaders.
Drives adoption and utilization of eSourcing Best Practices and technologies throughout the global sourcing organization
Contributes to the content of the Global Sourcing SharePoint site, facilitating the sharing of internal best practices.
Provide thorough analytical information to commodity leaders through the use of Ariba Spend Visibility
Serve as a leader to the community of super-users for our spend analyzer tool, our e-Sourcing tool and our contract lifecycle management tool
Maintain the system configurations and platform updates through communication with Ariba Customer Support
Support quarterly roll up of the Corporate Sourcing Sitebook and identify opportunities for process efficiencies
Manage various sourcing related projects as required
Minimum Requirements/
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited higher learning program in a Technical field preferred, seven years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree
If degreed, 5 years program management, Quality, or Sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
Expertise with Windows based office software required.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel.
Proficiency working with diverse groups preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills needed.
Strong analytical skills required.
Knowledge of the strategic sourcing process or practical application of quality processes to sourcing projects.
Strong project management, computer and programming skills desired
Ability to travel up to 25% travel required
This position has not been budgeted for relocation assistance.
