Duties and
Responsibilities: The Georgia Department of Driver Services is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Programmer Analyst, Advanced. Under limited supervision, coordinates and performs highly technical development support to complex IBM mainframe computer systems. Provides superior technical expertise to application development staff in computer languages and development tools. Assist internal and external customers and vendors in resolving difficult technical issues, concerns and problems. Perform work in analyzing, designing, maintaining and coding highly complex programs using the agency standard programming languages. Communicates with other programming staff to coordinate application interfaces.
Job Responsibilities and Performance Standards:
Performs job responsibilities with minimal supervision. Function as the IT subject matter expert for the assigned applicant areas. Provide an IT development support role for assigned tasks that rely heavily on mainframe systems. Provide primary IT user support for assigned applicant areas. Analyze and recommend application and system improvements. Assist with development of, enhancements to and/or the maintenance of the assigned tasks according to published standards. Ensure quality development and operation of assigned tasks. Write and debug programs or program modules. Ensure application compliance with the DDS Software Development Lifecycle methodology and IT standards.
Technical Competencies:
Ability to research, analyze information and draw logical inferences Ability to understand requirements for functional system changes Ability to exercise analytical judgment, following linear thought processes Ability to evaluate systems and understand the underlying business objectives and requirements Ability to write clear, declarative statements Knowledge of operational procedures

DDS employees, in the event of an identified emergency, may be required, as a term and condition of employment, to assist in meeting the emergency responsibilities of the Department. In addition, in an emergency situation, they may be required to perform responsibilities that are not regularly assigned to them in order to continue the operations of the agency. Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
