Duties &
Responsibilities
Successful candidate will be a member of the Catawba
Nuclear Station Radiation Protection Technical Staff. This Position
requires the candidate to provide support for Radiation Protection Technical
Programs that include personnel radiation monitoring, internal / external dosimetery
and dose assessments, environmental monitoring and radioactive effluents,
groundwater protection, radioisotope analysis and counting room instrumentation,
fixed and portable radiation detection instrumentation, respiratory protection
and shipment of radioactive materials/waste. Candidate will be required
to fill a Dose Assessment position in the Catawba Emergency Response
Organization. Candidate will provide support for internal and external audits
and assessments, as well as tracking performance measures of the Radiation
Protection Program. Candidate will interface with peers at other Duke
nuclear sites and the General Office on a regular basis.
Depending upon the desired qualifications of the
successful candidate, the hiring manager may elect to fill this position at a
higher level within the job hierarchy.
Qualifications: Basic
Qualifications BS Degree in Radiation Protection, Engineering or related
science discipline (or equivalent work related experience) Excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work independently identifying and resolving
problems Experience using computer applications (i.e. Microsoft
products) Experience managing multiple projects with changing
priorities Experience planning, organizing and scheduling team and
individual work activities Desired
Qualifications Experience providing leadership on projects, developing
schedules and ensuring they are completed on time with high quality Experience identifying, evaluating and providing
solutions to complex technical or regulatory problems in a timely and quality
manner Demonstrated self-starter, highly motivated, able to
handle stress, feedback and criticism effectively Experience in nuclear power industry Previous experience with Radiation Protection Emergency
Response Program maintenance. Advanced Degree in Health Physics, Engineering or related
science discipline ABHP Certified Health Physicist (CHP) Environment, Physical and Other Requirements Office and nuclear plant environments. Security Clearance Call Out including Emergency Response Organization Duty Night and weekend work when required to support the
organization Respiratory Physical Overnight Travel
Job: GenerationEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
