PeopleSoft Business Analyst III (Finance)
As a Level III PeopleSoft Business Analyst for Finance you will consult with business area leads to analyze issues and generate solutions. With experience in project management, business systems, and healthcare technology projects, the candidate who fills this position will be actively involved in developing and advancing MedStar's best practices and tools for business analysis.
The Level III PeopleSoft Business Analyst is responsible for analysis, configuration, maintenance, testing, and support for computer based corporate application system upgrades, new releases, and optimization implementations for Payroll. You will work closely with developers and/or key users, assessing business needs and determining/implementing information technology solutions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a business discipline, computer science, similar field or two year technical degree; or equivalent combination of experience and education. Oracle PeopleSoft training preferred.
5 years experience in application analysis, design, systems implementation and package integration withbusiness analysisexperience implementing and supporting one or more of the following Oracle PeopleSoft modules: HR, Payroll, Benefits, T&L, Self Service.
Experience working the interface of information technology with functional groups within an organization
Experience with business process mapping and re-engineering
Strong analytical ability to solve complex business / technical problems.
Competent in basic project management principles.
Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively interface with internal/external customers.
Excellent customer service skills.
Primary Duties and
Responsibilities:
Performs analysis and conceptual design to enhance value to business. Provides expert support after implementation. Applies business and systems knowledge throughout process.
Participates in the technical design of interfaces, data conversions, reports, and customizations providing the required functionality not supplied by the package.
Collaborates with internal users, staff members, and information technology colleagues to define detailed customer requirements and system interfaces while assessing value in modification to delivered software versus building new functionality. Translate requirements into technical design solutions.
Provides expertise to team members and mentors junior team members, 3rd level production support
Deliver technical information, support and training to internal customers to assist them in performing and improving their daily work processes.
Provide technical assistance to team members and often performs as a team leader.
Collaborates with internal users, staff members, and information technology colleagues to define detailed customer requirements and system interfaces while assessing value in request. Translate requirements into functional design solutions.
Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents, and reviews of work product derived from requirements specifications to ensure that they were interpreted correctly.
Question proposed technical solution logic as well as facilitate discussions between the various technical groups, i.e. developers, DBAs, network services, etc.
Develop detailed system test plans, execute system test cases and provide issue tracking and consolidation.
Manage a coordinated User Acceptance Test (UAT) effort.
Identify and validate business objectives, and generate solutions that align with MedStar's technology strategy and standards
Perform business analysis and document business requirements using easy to understand tools and methodologies.
Decompose high-level business and user requirements into functional requirements, specified in an appropriate level of detail suitable for use by those responsible for basing their work on said requirements.

Demonstrates proficiency to maintain expert knowledge about the system through participation in vendor classes, vendor client conferences, and working with vendor support.
Demonstrates proficiency in maintaining operational procedures to ensure data integrity and maximum system availability.
Demonstrates proficiency in documenting application specific support information (e.g. developing Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ), daily procedures, etc.) and maintaining the information on the Intranet.
Must have strong interviewing and listening skills and demonstrate the ability to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information.
Develop and maintain good relationships with customers and systems colleagues to ensure successful implementations and to meet expected customer service levels.
Report the status of project efforts. Anticipate/identify issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implement corrective actions.
Provide mentoring in the analysis, design, testing, implementation, and production support of new and existing business application software
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to carry a pager/cell phone and be available for 24 x 7 on-call support to include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Frequency of rotation will vary depending on need/size of department.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
