Trait Deployment Specialist for Ankeny, IA to define North American corn trait deployment programs; evaluate native trait performance with corn breeding, plant health teams & doubled haploid operations; support breeding & genome-wide selection; provide clear SOP/protocols & communication; establish program planning & scheduling; facilitate implementation, advancement & prioritization of native trait deployment projects; forecast & report activities for line conversions. Requires Master's in Crop Science or closely-related field; 2 yrs experience performing marker-aided breeding selection involving corn native traits using MABC, MAS & GWS methodologies; and coordinating large-scale genotyping projects with corn breeders. Background must include experience performing crop genetics research for disease traits, including genotypic & phenotypic characterization; designing field experiments, including planting, plot management & harvesting; utilizing SAS or R statistical software; and performing DNA & RNA extraction, PCR & qPCR setup and data analysis.
