Title: Electrical Design Technician- Entry Level Location: Tennessee-Smyrna Other Locations: We are currently looking for a Electrical Designer to join our team as part of our manufacturing program. In this role you will design, electrical controls and circuits for medium voltage products, implementing designs and supporting product introduction to manufacturing facilities. This position is responsible for various electrical engineering activities related to products manufactured at this location. This position within the Order Engineering team, Smyrna Tennessee will be responsible for electrical engineering support of US custom designed medium voltage switchgear and control-gear products that are manufactured in multiple countries around the world including the USA, Canada and Mexico, supplied to customers all over the world.
Responsibilities for this position include providing electrical design services in cooperation with the Application Engineer to meet customer specifications, drawings, and power system requirements as they apply to Medium Voltage products. The applicant will work to develop Power & Communication 3-Line, Wiring Diagrams electrical drawings, wiring schematics, and layouts for use in assembly. Knowledge in the following areas is desirable:
- Applications of medium voltage switchgear
- Proficiency in AutoCAD software
- Knowledge of protective relays, power circuit monitoring and PLC based equipment
- Effective time management to maintain order schedules and a high level of customer service
- Ability to interact with application engineering, project management, and plant manufacturing personnel
Qualifications:
o A two-year associate's degree from an accredited college is required.
o 1-5 Years of experience in related field preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
o Strong knowledge of electrical one-lines, schematics, wiring and interconnect diagrams.
o Strong computer skills with MS Office, AutoCAD, Visio, Adobe, Microsoft Office suite.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
o A good work ethic, along with high energy and a positive attitude, high degree of self organization.
o Strong approach to team work working as individual contributor or in a team environment in collaboration with various groups.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a flexible and changing/demanding environment.
