Senior Process Engineer:
1. Be an innovative senior process lead for the next-generation PVD processes and applications.
2. Formulate and execute systematic experiments to improve existing deposition processes, equipment and procedures for PVD deposition.
3. Develop competitive thin film materials based on technical evaluation of current products offered in the global marketplace.
4. Apply solid scientific understanding of material science and device physics in the development of innovative thin films and products.
5. Perform material characterizations using advanced metrology equipment and interpret resultant data.
6. Develop and contribute new ideas and technical content for research proposals, technical papers, and patent applications.
7. Interface directly with customers to develop new products and troubleshoot abnormalities.
8. Lead demonstrations of the Apollo PVD system capabilities to new and existing customers.
9. Lead and perform acceptance testing of processing systems prior to and after the shipment of the system.
10. Train customers and field service Engineers on the operation of the system and the related processes.
11. Participate in and drive process/product characterization of new hardware and system configurations.
12. Function as technical engineering resource to sales, marketing and manufacturing operations.
13. Train and mentor junior engineers in PVD process technology.
14. Travel to customer sites to work on system acceptance or process issues.
15. Up to 20-25% travel required to customer sites throughout the world, predominantly in Asia.
Minimum Requirements:
A Ph.D. degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Material Science or related discipline and 3 years of experience in development and modification of process formulation and equipment requirements for metal deposition or crystal growth equipment.
Experience must include the following, which may be gained concurrently:
-3 years of experience with high vacuum semiconductor deposition processes and equipment including PVD.
-3 years of experience in semiconductor process equipment.
-Experience in plasma processes.
-Experience in process metrology and thin film analytical techniques such as Four-point probe, SEM, Surface profilometer, XRF, AFM, XRD, reflectometer.
-Experience in troubleshooting and recommending system upgrades to qualify process requirements
-Experience in DOE and SPC implementation, training and deployment
Job site: 900 Middlesex Turnpike, Building 6, Billerica, MA 01821. Up to 20-25% travel required to customer sites throughout the world, predominantly in Asia. Full-time.
