Job Description:
Our client is looking for qualified Component Design Engineer candidates for customer bring-up material development training. Primary responsibilities will focus on architecting and development of training material and labs for FDK kit learning
Responsibilities:
In this position, you will be a part of a team working on the development and support of next generation IC design flows for analog, digital and/or full custom circuits. As a CAD Engineer in the team, you will be required to assume key role in the development of these design flows for multiple engineering customers, internal or external using industry standard EDA software such as Cadence, Mentor, Synopsys, etc.
Qualifications:
- Design experience, at least for 5 years in the semiconductor design industry.
- Expert level proficiency in RTL (Verilog) coding, synthesis and automatic place and route.
- Experience with Synopsys Design Compiler and IC Compiler and/or Cadence RTL Compiler and EDI.
- Thorough understanding of the ASIC design process. - Exposure to design rules, fill and physical verification.
- Thriving on challenges, fast switch context switching, self-driven.
- Extensive knowledge of Windows/UNIX, scripting, and HPC workload management are more important.
- Strong UNIX AND Windows Server knowledge and experience with data management / version control software is expected.
- Expertise with High Performance Computing HPC workload management systems Platform ISF, Sun Grid. - Fluency in C++, UNIX shell scripting, Perl, SKILL, Windows VBScript.
- Experience with various Electronic Design Automation EDA software, flows, and architecture.
- Solid understanding of integrated circuit IC simulation tools and related methodologies.
- Knowledge of front-to-back IC design flows with focus on analog/mixed-signal solutions.
- Expertise with Cadence DFII environment such as Schematic Composer and Virtuoso layout editor.
- Direct industry experience with Cadence, Synopsys, Agilent EEsof, and/or Mentor tools would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with multiple CAD flows: custom and digital both front end and back end would be an advantage.
- Understanding of Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor CMOS processing, very large Scale Integration VLSI design, and semiconductor device physics.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and develop quick engineering solutions for complex problems.
- Ability to interface with engineers and managers by providing schedule updates and roadmap plans.
- High problem solving capacity and good tolerance for ambiguity able to prioritize tasks independently.
- Natural focus on quality, discipline, and accurate results for engineering customers.
Education Level:
You must at least possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with at least five years of experience in IC design or Computed Aided Design CAD.
A Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Engineering would be an added advantage.
