To continue our tremendous success and unparalleled growth, we are searching for qualified and ambitious individuals to ensure that equipment is properly maintained and repaired to maximize branch productivity. The Welder is responsible for:
Inspecting and cleaning all welding related equipment upon return to ensure that it is ready and safe for use
Setup, testing, cleaning and order filling of inverter welders, wire feeders, plasma cutters, transformers, pipe bevellers and fume extractors.
Diagnose and repair issues with all welding equipment.
Ensuring all safeguards regarding equipment and personal protective equipment
Performing basic load tests for welders under full load (high voltage power)
Ensuring a clean and safe working environment
Excellence in this challenging and rewarding position will allow for learning and advancement into higher levels of welding technician and management roles.
Requirements
To be qualified, canidate must have a minimum of 1 year welding technician experience or 3 years applied welding experience in an industrial or fabrication setting. The ideal candidate will be familiar with electric and welding equipment and comfortable with high voltage electricity. Knowledge of OSHA safe working practices is recommended. Strong verbal and written communication skills and understanding of RentalMan and the rental flow and work processes are also valued in this role. Superior customer service remains the backbone of United Rentals, therefore your willingness and ability to provide this to each customer makes you a top-notch candidate. A high school diploma is required and a technical school certification is preferrred. A valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record is required.
