Responsibilities:
Work closely with Product Managers and Product Owners to develop a high level User Experience vision and strategy for our Aerospace and Defense product line with a specific focus on user research, visual design and interaction design
Establish and apply an effective User Experience design process in an agile software development environment
Perform usability reviews of existing products
Translate research findings into design concepts (ideation, design sketches, information architecture, etc.) and lo-fi/hi-fi prototypes
Create and maintain personas, scenarios, user journeys
Develop and validate information architecture and detailed UI designs
Provide effective design documentation and specification
Assist development in implementing UI designs
Participate in user research including observational studies, customer interviews, and usability testing
Work closely with architects, development and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with User Experience specifications
Collaborate with peer User Experience designers across multiple SDL product teams on the development of organization-wide User Experience design guidelines to enable a seamless User Experience between multiple systems, platforms, and devices

Qualifications:
2
years of industry experience in designing User Experiences (preferably web based business applications)
Knowledge and hands-on experience of design techniques and methods in user research, human factors, usability testing, interaction design, and visual user interface design in the context of web based business applications
Capability to iteratively create and test design ideas and concepts
Proficiency in creating mockups, wireframes, and prototypes using tools such as Balsamiq, Microsoft Visio, Axure, or Adobe Fireworks and hands-on experience in using visual design tools such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Fireworks
Demonstrated understanding of current web UI technologies, trends, developments
Knowledge or hands-on experience in service design and/or designing across platforms and devices is a plus
Experience in an Aerospace and/or Defense domain is a plusEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
