Summary:
This position is responsible for making modal and carrier selections for all customer orders. Plans freight loads, accepts loads and coordinates drivers with loads. This position is responsible for ensuring that all customer service and traffic issues and requests are resolved in manner that meets or exceed the customer's expectations.

Essential Functions:/
Foster a positive relationship with capacity providers by communicating load readiness, being responsive, respectful and supportive resulting in improved retention potential
Entering, updating and/or tracking of orders and shipments
Investigation and resolution of issues; escalation of issues as needed
Complete load assignment process by complying with standard operating procedures
Efficient use of phone system ensuring all calls are handled in a timely and professional manner
Coordination of pickups/deliveries
Ensure all required internal and external reporting is completed accurately and timely
Maintain system integrity regarding all changes made to loads by the customer
Acting as a liaison between Transportation Operations, carriers and customers
Daily interaction with internal, carrier and customer personnel is required
Basic understanding of hours of service and other industry related regulations.
/ Scope and Accountability:/
Applies basic principles, concepts, practices and standards of a professional field to complete standards tasks and assignments. Researches and interprets factual information (e.g., assesses accuracy of detailed information, identifies inconsistencies in data and results); frequently solves problems through research of multiple alternatives.
Qualification Requirements:
_ Knowledge_: Degree in Logistics or related field preferred, will accept an equivalent combination of education and experience
_ Skills_:
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong systems aptitude and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with emphasis on Outlook, Word and Excel
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Understanding of Transportation Operations and Supply Chain Management
_ Experience_: This position requires 0-2 years of experience in customer service preferably in the transportation or logistics industry.
_ Physical Demands and Work Environment:_
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and to work on a computer terminal and at a desk for long periods. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, including typing, writing, filing, etc.; reach with hands and arms; and readily and effectively communicate. Vision abilities required by this job include the ability to effectively see within an office environment, which may include long term computer exposure, and to adjust focus accordingly.
The duties of the job are primarily performed in an office environment. There is some exposure to noise in the work environment, which is usually mild to moderate
