Job Description:
Senior Python Engineer should have a strong Python/Unix scripting foundation with experience in automating software deployments and troubleshooting application and OS issues.
The Senior Python Engineer will have technical experience in:
At least 10 years of experience with Python &/or Unix shell scripting
Expert/senior level engineer with strong, in-depth troubleshooting experience in OS, application and java issues
Needs to be able to work independently and is self-motivated.
Should have extensively worked on distributed systems
Experience with using version control repositories such as CVS/Subversion
Experience and specific skills in Hadoop Core and Supporting Services, MySQL and/or Security (Kerberos/LDAP).
Each candidate does not need all of these additional skills but they need to be strong in at least one.
The Senior Python Engineer will be an effective communicator who is confident with developing relationships and maintaining this relationship to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
Roles &
Responsibilities:
1) 8-10 years experience in developing software applications including: analysis, design, coding, testing, deploying and supporting of applications.
2) Proficient in application/software architecture (Definition, Business Process Modeling, etc.).
3) Project Management experience.
4) Experience building Big Data solutions using Hadoop technology.
5) Extensive experience with software development and the complete software lifecycle (analysis, design, implementation, testing, quality assurance).
6) Ability to work with non-technical resources on the team to translate data needs into Big Data solutions using the appropriate tools.
7) Extensive experience developing complex MapReduce programs against structured and unstructured data.
8) Experience with loading data to Hive and writing software accessing Hive data.
