The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) seeks a Senior Communications Specialist to develop and manage communications to promote awareness and understanding of MSRB regulatory, technology and other initiatives. The Senior Communications Specialist will produce communications on technical aspects of projects for delivery to various stakeholders ensuring the MSRBs mission is effectively and consistently communicated, and that stakeholders can easily access information. The successful candidate will draft and edit communications materials in multiple formats and serve as a contributor to editorial aspects of the MSRBs websites maintenance and content development. The Senior Communications Specialist will also play a key role in the marketing of MSRB products and services to target audiences and in the MSRBs social media strategy expansion and execution.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with four to six years of communications experience, preferably related to technical and/or regulatory matters
Strong knowledge of communication best practices and the financial services industry; knowledge of the municipal securities market is preferred
Experience writing for websites and newsletters; experience with website content management system is strongly desired
Skills:
Excellent project management, analytical and writing skills are required
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization (internally and externally) both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated ability to quickly grasp technical information and write clear explanations for a variety of audiences
Ability to take initiative on assigned projects/tasks and work with minimal supervision
Proven ability to manage multiple short and long-term projects in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
Ability to build relationships with colleagues, project consultants and others toward a mutual goal
Proficiency in MS Office suite and social media platforms
