Manufacturing company in Pasadenda, Tx is looking for a Controller. Ideal candidate they are looking for will have manufacturing and construction experience, with manufactuing being most important. They are looking for a controller with true nuts and bolts accounting.
Keys:
Standard cost experience in a manufacturing environment required
Active, hands-on experience with construction services and job costing accounting processes and procedures
7-10
years of progressive experience in manufacturing and construction industries (manufacturing most important)
Experience working with multiple operating locations preferred
Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience preferred
PURPOSE:
The Controller is responsible for all aspects of the Financial Accounting Department, including the hiring, management and evaluation of staff; the planning and directing of all accounting activities, including a fast and effective close and the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports; oversees all cash management activities; systems implementation, and assists with working capital and fixed asset management of divisions; maintains processes and procedures to ensure that the financials are in compliance with GAAP and company internal control policy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Supervise the Accounting Department operation and staff, ensuring that departmental goals are met.
Direct the month end close process, prepare monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and provide analysis, forecasts, and budgets to management.
Identify, promote and implement revenue increasing, cost reducing, and/or efficiency improvements at all levels of the business.
Advise management on project financial status by providing accurate and timely cost and revenue data.
Develop and administer effective job costing for field service work, and standard costing data structure and system for manufacturing.
Control current cash in cash deposit accounts, cash needed to cover AP disbursements, and wire transfers between multiple accounts.
Ensure AR balances are maintained at acceptable levels through proper collection efforts and assessment/correction of issues causing billing discrepancies.
Oversee fixed asset management and maintain database of current assets, including appreciation and depreciation.
Comply with and enforce federal and state laws with regard to fiduciary responsibility.

Performs other related duties and special projects as required and assigned.
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are needed to deal with all levels of management and customers.
Ability to verbally communicate company policies and procedures.
Ability to read and understand financial information and alert management of potential issues/concerns/areas of opportunity as soon as identified.
Excellent understanding of data structures and ERP functionality.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
7-10 years progressive increase in responsibilities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA and CMA preferred
Active, hands-on experience with construction services and job costing accounting processes and procedures
Standard cost experience in a manufacturing environment required
Experience working with multiple operating locations preferred
Microsoft Dynamics NAV experience preferred
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general mechanical and technical procedures or government regulations in English.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers whose first language is English.

SUPERVISION
Works under the general supervision of the CFO, supervises the finance team of 1-5 accountants and clerks
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
