Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities of the Shipping Supervisor:
Responsible for assuring shipping schedules are met by organizing and coordinating
trailer loads. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Will train employees; plan, assign and direct work;
appraise performance;reward/discipline employees; address complaints and resolve
problems.
Education or Training Required:
Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university: or minimum three years related
experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Authorized Training Required:
Forklift / Pallet Jack
Lockout / Tagout
Fall Protection
Manlifts
Bloodborne Pathogens / First Aid-CPR
Experience Required:
Minimum three shipping, material handling and/or freezer experience in a pork facility
preferred.
Skills Required:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operating and maintenance
instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before immediate supervisor or employees of organization.
Bottom Line
1. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2. 3
years of experience in
shipping or material handling including some supervisory experience.
3. Experience in a pork facility preferred.
