Position provides support to surgical scheduling functions. Responsible for maintaining and coordinating the surgery schedule. Monitors and schedules all surgical cases. Records all pertinent information into the scheduling book for pre-operative phone calls and references. Obtains anesthesia coverage for scheduled cases. Assigns cases to appropriate operating rooms, making sure proper equipment is available and allotted time is maintained. Maintains good rapport and working relations with surgeons and anesthesia offices. Special Skills: Advanced computer skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Medical terminology course or demonstrated knowledge through experience.
Minimum
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
Preferred
Qualifications: One-year experience in surgical scheduling.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
