POSITION
Summary:
As a Controls Technical Specialist this individual will play an instrumental role in supporting the internal customers throughout the plant and will work very closely with the engineering group. This support will include providing advanced technical software and hardware support of the factory floor automation and process system instruments. He/She will also be responsible for troubleshooting problems, analysis of processes and equipment operation and development of capital and infrastructure automation designs.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
1. Assists Engineering in identifying and scoping control systems related projects
2. Supports Production in identifying control system related opportunities at the plant
3. Maintains working knowledge of Corporate Control System Standards and Guidelines
4. Assists in maintaining an up-to-date and complete set of as-built electrical and controls documentation
5. Coordinates and implements control systems software upgrades
6. Assists in training and development of machine operators and maintenance technicians for equipment and process controls operation
7. Programs and installs custom control systems application software and assists on plant capital projects as needed
8. Provides instrumentation, PLC and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to the plant maintenance staff
Perform all other duties as assigned

Responsibilities:
Stays aware of technological trends and procedures through involvement with outside organizations, professional contacts, books, seminars, etc.
Contributes to plant-wide initiatives as assigned
Timely communication of all aspects of assigned projects
Functions as a resource for difficult control system-related problems that the maintenance staff is unable to solve
Coordinates work on PC-based control system equipment with IS department
Performs Network Administration and Data Administration tasks for networked, PC-based, control systems related equipment
Maintains software applications skill set and knowledge base as required via training

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience (Years/Type):
3
years of experience in industrial control system maintenance and support
Experience working with PLC software and hardware troubleshooting
Experience with PC-based HMI systems
