This position is located at the Idaho Bureau of Laboratories (IBL). The role of IBL is to provide laboratory services to support the programs within the Department of Health and Welfare, Idahos public health districts, other state agencies and citizens. This position will support both inorganic and organic environmental analysis.

Responsibilities:
Sample Tracking: Log in and process samples for testing.
Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analyses of environmental samples using detailed extraction procedures with a variety of sophisticated analytical instruments, techniques and tests.
Analyses includes: chemical titrations, gravimetric analysis, spectrophotometry, and ion chromatography.
Maintain and calibrate instruments.
Prepare standard reagents.
Write Standard Operating Procedures and technical reports on testing methods and procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean and efficient laboratory.
Quality Control: Evaluate data for accuracy and precision following quality control requirements.
Consultation: Communicate with federal and state agencies, and the public regarding analyses, results, and equipment. Must be able to respond to technical inquiries and advise on chemical analysis and issues.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Completion of the core requirements for a Bachelors degree in chemistry from an accredited college AND approximately one year work performing standardized, qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses outside of college requirements;
OR
Completion of the core requirement for a Master's of Science degree in chemistry that included benchwork experience performing complex chemical analyses.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
