_SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
_
The Gas SCADA Engineer will work directly in the Gas Transmission and Storage (GTS) Operations group, working with the Gas Control, Gas Measurement, Gas Technicians and assist the Gas Engineering group. The engineer will be responsible for programming and maintenance of the GTS Gas SCADA system as well as the GTS Flow Cal gas measurement system. The SCADA/Measurement engineer will also be involved in the design of metering and regulating stations.
_DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS_

Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
Designs and implements Gas SCADA displays, alarming, RTU programming, and data exchange.
Designs and implements Flow Cal data exchange.
Analyzes gas volume information and assists in gas measurement audits
Constructs applicable reports and documents utilizing Microsoft Windows based computer tools.
Possesses excellent computer skills, including experience in developing Access databases and working with Visual Basic programming
Assists in design of metering and regulating stations.
_GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
_
Must be able to demonstrate a good safety record
Must possess strong interpersonal communication skills
Requires general knowledge of DOT, ASME, API, NEC, OSHA terms and guidelines
Excellent skills in Microsoft Access and Excel
Must possess a working knowledge of the methods and calculations necessary to design appropriate metering and regulating stations.
Must possess a comprehensive knowledge or commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of gas SCADA/measurement
Must possess the necessary skills required to provide safe and creative Gas SCADA/Measurement solutions
Ability to work without direct supervision and serve as a mentor/instructor to others
Requires good communication skills both written and spoken
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or Natural gas engineering
Gas Measurement/SCADA experience
Must be able to work under time pressure
Ability to work in field operating conditions as necessary
Ability to travel to all operating groups upon short notice a must
