Description: Blount County Government will be taking a pool of applications for a Probation Officer. Responsibilities include interviewing, drug screening, monitoring, supervising and counseling probationers while ensuring compliance with all program requirements. Other responsibilities include attending court sessions, filling out paperwork for new client referrals, teaching classes, data entry into probation tracking systems and other computer software programs implemented by Blount County Probation. This position will require work on some evenings and weekends. This position will also require the applicant to be on-call and respond to alerts and violations of an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet program. Performs other miscellaneous job duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants should have at least two years of experience in a Criminal Justice/ Social Services Agency. Associate-s Degree from an Accredited College or University in a related field. Bachelor-s Degree is preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
