About the Position: This position is located at the Physical Support Branch Main Office (Fountain City Service Base) in Fountain City, Wisconsin. Works directly with Branch Chief, Plant & Facility Manager, Equipment Specialist, Civil Engineering Technician, Navigation Specialist, Chief of Maintenance & Repair Section, Dredge Goetz Master and counterparts from other organizations. Provides guidance and support to other Branch administrators and staff working throughout the Saint Paul District in support of Operations missions. The Physical Support Branch Office is located in Fountain City, Wisconsin, on the banks of the Mississippi River, approximately 8 miles north of Winona, Minnesota.

Fountain City, Wisconsin is on the Mississippi River approximately 110 miles south of St. Paul District headquarters. Nestled in the bluffs along the Mississippi River, Fountain City is the oldest settlement in Buffalo County. Rich in natural and historic beauty, this small river town community is proud of its miles of memories and unique attractions. The panoramic view of the Fountain City is highlighted by Eagle Bluff, which stands 550 feet above the river, the highest point on the Mississippi River. Incumbent must be knowledgeable of program and project objectives, and administrative and clerical directives and practices for the Physical Support Branch. Work units include the Dredge Goetz Section, the Maintenance & Repair Section and the Physical Support Branch Main Office. Provide guidance to other Branch administrators not physically stationed at the Project Office in Fountain City. Coordinates due dates, issues suspense notifications and follows up on late appraisals. Reviews performance appraisals and incentive award nominations for adequacy, completeness and timeliness. Assists the Branch training coordinator in planning training, recommends additions or deletions to training schedules based on need, cost, and training space allocation. Serves as the primary financial management system point of contact and troubleshooter for the Branch. Disseminates, collects, and coordinates information via telephone, radio, fax, and email with remote offices to support project operations. Requisitions, receives, inventories, and hand receipts for all accountable office property.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
To be qualified at the GS-06 you must have at least one year specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level (GS-05). Specialized experience includes: experience organizing the flow of clerical and administrative processes in an office environment; correspondence and files management; timekeeping, telephone and receptionist services; word processing and office automation functions.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower or second lower grade (or equivalent).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions in this occupational series; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
