The District includes significant natural resources and land management issues that have national and regional impact. Examples of resources managed include the world's largest deposit of trona and the number two ranked gas field in the nation. The District is responsible for integrating public land uses with emerging green energy sources such as wind. The District helps manage oil and gas development, the transport of energy, management and protection of wild horses, and land conservation. If you are appointed at a grade lower than the full performance level, you may subsequently be promoted to the full performance level without competing again. This is a developmental position with promotion potential to the GS-09.
You will assist other members of the engineering staff in performing basic assignments in support of various resource programs such as range, watershed, recreation, fisheries, wildlife, wild horses, fire rehabilitation and upkeep of roads, yards and buildings. You will assist in accomplishing engineering projects such as easement line surveys. You will perform inspection functions of operations and materials. You will preparing supplement letters to right-of-way agreement and prepare appropriate National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation requests for constructions or other terms and condition of use.
Physical Demands: These positions require extended periods of field work. This includes vehicular and foot travel over steep uneven and rock mountainous and desert terrain in all types of adverse weather conditions, and considerable strength, stamina and agility for stooping/bending/lifting.
Work requires the ability to effectively cope with pressures associated with both fixed and irregular deadlines, and management multiple priorities. You must have one year of specialized experience at the next lower level in order to qualify for these positions; OR have appropriate education substitute; OR a combination of experience and education. To qualify at the GS-07 level , you must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to GS-6 in the Federal service; OR completed one year (18 semester hours) of GRADUATE level college education in civil engineering or a directly related field. NOTE: Undergraduate education cannot be substituted for specialized experience to qualify for GS-7; OR have an equivalent combination of experience and education.
Examples of specialized experience include: performing technical work in support of survey, design, and construction, with the addition of providing technical support for surveying, & estimating & preparing contracts for these types of projects.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
