Duties and
Responsibilities: Include teaching applied voice to Commercial Music majors and non-majors. This position reports to the Chair of Commercial Music.
Requires: Bachelors degree in Vocal Performance, Musical Theater, Music Education, Music Composition, or a related field with a graduate degree strongly preferred. Three to five years of performance experience is required. Candidate must have documented professional experience as a soloist in a variety of musical ensembles and familiarity with contemporary performance and production styles. Candidate should be familiar with amplified systems and familiar with in-ear monitoring.
Proficiency on an instrument including piano, guitar or percussion enhances the candidates qualifications. Candidate may teach other courses in the Commercial Music program according to area of specialization and departmental need. Must comply with established College rules and procedures. This position is security sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorized the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Must receive and maintain security clearance for the prison system.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
