Warehouse Management Technology Manager
We have an immediate full time opportunity with a large F500 client in the Martinsville, VA area.
The successful candidate will have experience in tier 1 warehouse management applications, prior implementation and start-up experience, project management planning/execution and excellent technical skills.
Key
Responsibilities:
o This position will be responsible and accountable for the WMS application ownership for any warehouses within in the site campus. This individual will serve as a focal point, super user and subject matter expert for all site users.
o The manager will provide direction and oversee all daily activities for the direct report WMS analyst position(s)
o They will oversee local WMS user setup and authorization maintenance, working with corporate security and compliance groups as needed
o Manager will manage first line of support for any WMS issues reported by the local operations team, and will oversee the primary triage resource when requesting assistance from the global Enterprise technical support group
o The manager will also coordinate with the corporate Fulfillment Technology team as needed to enter vendor support tickets and have responsibility for driving to resolution
o They will assist in the monitoring of all interfaces for the site to multiple host order management, parcel, and material handling/ warehouse control systems
o They will oversee/ direct all local (site specific) systems configuration. This individual will work with the operations team to manage/ drive site system configuration to meet local Fulfillment Operations team requirements
o Manager will serve on new client launch teams as the fulfillment systems representative and contribute from design through launch on planning and local execution
o The manager will coordinate with the WMS Analyst (s) and operations resources for the development of system standard operating procedures (S.O.P.'s) that will be tailored to the local operation
o They will be a key contributor to the corporate Fulfillment Technology team in the definition and design of continual enhancement requests for fulfillment technology applications
o They will support the Fulfillment Technology Team by overseeing/executing any required local systems testing for code fixes or platform enhancements. The individual will also assist with documentation and presentation of changes through corporate change control board as required
o This manager will support the corporate Enterprise Quality Assurance and E-Commerce Technology teams with order processing requests as needed for overall eBay platform level end-to-end testing
o Manager will work with client services to pull and analyze fulfillment reporting data as needed
o This manager will support operations in the planning and execution of local WMS/TMS/WCS/LMS application training as required
o They will work with fellow managers/ resources in other fulfillment centers on the definition, design and development of new reports, queries and inquiry screens to support operations/ business requirements
o They will assist in the setup & support of the transportation/parcel system and the warehouse control/ material handling/ conveyance systems.
Job Requirements
o 3-5 years experience working with a tier -1 full scale warehouse management system, preferably in a retail direct to consumer environment
o 3-5 years significant project management and systems implementation experience, preferably in a retail direct to consumer environment
o Technical skills/acumen including software development methodology, systems integration experience
o Strong business acumen; particularly in order fulfillment, inventory control and/or distribution.
o Excellent communication skills, written and oral
o Ability to work independently and prioritize competing tasks in a fast paced environment
o Ability to travel when required to other fulfillment center facilities (5-10%)
o Ability to work off shift hours and weekends on occasion as required
Desirable Requirements:
o 3
years experience with Manhattan Associates or JDA/ Red Prairie WMS Applications
o 1-2 years experience with Manhattan Associates or JDA/ Red Prairie LMS Applications
o Professional services/ consulting firm implementation experience
o Direct to consumer fulfillment operations/ e-commerce industry experience
o Experience with direct to consumer parcel solutions
o Experience integrating a WMS to Enterprise Resource Planning, (ERP) Transportation Management systems, (TMS) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) systems.
o Bachelor's degree in logistics, computer science, engineering, business or equivalent experience
