JOB OVERVIEW
Core responsibilities of this position include social media and outreach marketing, media relations and web-content management, on behalf of Federation's NEXTGen Detroit and other key departments.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
o Develop and maintain web content including web pages, calendars, emails, newsletters, etc.
o Leverage social media platforms to share and promote Federation's programs and events (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc).
o Write timely press releases for local print and digital media sources.
o Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations and peer groups.
o Consult with organization leadership to craft marketing messages for distinct audiences.
o Work with volunteer leadership to assist with developing marketing strategies.
o Support and manage some NEXTGen portfolios.
o Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
o Mastery of social media outreach and marketing.
o Proven success with creating, curating and managing multi-media content.
o Excellent writing skills.
o Effective communicator and storyteller.
o Creative and a strategic thinker.
o Strong collaborator and a good team-player.
o Quick learner.
o Passion for digital community-building and networking.
o Ability to interact with volunteer leadership in a professional and personable manner.
o Ability to meet deadlines in a timely manner and maintain aEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
