SIGAR conducts audits and investigations to promote efficiency and effectiveness of reconstruction programs and detect and prevent waste, fraud, and abuse.
About the Position:
This position is located in Arlington, VA, Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR). The incumbent will perform a wide variety of administrative duties for and on behalf of the Director of Security relating to the day-to-day support of SIGAR's administrative options.

You will perform a wide variety of administrative duties for and on behalf of the Director of Security relating to the day-to-day support of SIGAR's administrative options.
You will provide general office support as required to include greeting and receiving guests to the SIGAR Arlington office, receiving and screening incoming telephone calls; and exercises maximum tact, diplomacy, and judgment to determine which calls should be referred to other staff members, etc.
You will provide accurate and timely information, use correct spelling, grammar, format, and the arrangement of materials and interacting; and will be punctual and maintain excellent attendance.
With the direction of the supervisor, you will maintain informal records and prepare data summaries and/or narrative analyses for inclusion in routine and special reports, and/or testimonials or other presentations.
You will make appointments based on knowledge of schedules, priorities, and established policies, rescheduling appointments as needed.
You will make arrangements for meetings and conferences by scheduling rooms, contacting attendees, and preparing materials needed for meetings.
You will maintain office files in accordance with standard filing practices.
You will use office automation systems and various software packages to accomplish the work.
You will prepare correspondence, reports, records, statistical and narrative material, and messages in final format.
You will use knowledge of software utilities and function commands to manipulate text to accomplish formats, revisions, deletions, and additions and use judgment in selecting spacing, arranging material, and ensuring proper punctuation, capitalization, spelling, grammar, arithmetic, etc.
You will provide transportation to executive staff as required and ensure the safe operation and care of government-owned vehicles and assist with agency transportation requirements as necessary.
You will assist with agency-related logistics requirements to include office relocations, movements of furniture, supplies and information technology-related equipment.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: work which includes customer service, administrative support, answering telephones, using correct spelling, grammar, format, and the arrangement of materials; and interacting with the public. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the GS-06 grade (or equivalent).

This position may be considered essential to the overall support of the SIGAR mission. If considered emergency essential, failure to meet emergency essential requirements may result in separation for the efficiency of the Federal Service (Ch. 75, Title 5 USC; FPM Ch. 752).
Incumbent may be required to submit an Executive Branch Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
Incumbent must complete a Form SF 312, Classified Information Nondisclosure Agreement.
Position is Non-Critical Sensitive (2) requiring the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Incumbent may be required to operate an official vehicle and provide a copy of a valid driver's license
This position may require travel to Afghanistan.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
