The Jackson Laboratory, nestled in scenic Bar Harbor, ME, has a rare opportunity for a skilled Recruiter to join the Talent Acquisition team! The successful candidate will be responsible for full cycle recruiting and partnering in a consultative manner with hiring managers to ensure the organization's hiring goals are met. As a member of the Talent Acquisition team, the incumbent will develop and share talent assessment and selection best practices with others, take ownership for the recruitment function and results, and operate in a manner that exemplifies the JAX values.
Responsibilities include:
Managing the full cycle recruitment process by sourcing qualified candidates, talent assessment and selection, collaboration with hiring managers, managing the offer discussions, through the onboarding activities.
Develop recruitment plans and strategies to source and identify qualified passive and non-passive job seekers.
Partner with hiring managers to understand positions, skills needed for success, and offering tools and resources to support the talent selection process.
Properly assess candidate qualifications through effective interviewing skills, techniques, and methods. Create assessment tools tied to competencies and the JAX values.
Coach hiring managers and interview teams around effective interviewing methods to ensure a consistent and fair practice.
Facilitate meaningful candidate debrief discussions to identify the most qualified talent.
Manage the successful offer extension and onboarding discussions and activities for a smooth transition to The Jackson Laboratory.
Provide a candidate centric approach through the recruitment and selection process by providing timely updates, feedback, and support to the candidate pool.
Complete candidate documentation, metrics reporting, timely communication to candidates and hiring managers, and additional activities related to the full cycle recruitment process and required for reporting purposes.
Required Experience
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or another area of business or 5 years of successful working experience in a Human Resources department
Knowledge of recruiting methods and techniques (sourcing, developing strategies, owning the selection process) as would normally be acquired through two (2) years of successful experience in a position in which recruitment was a major activity
Experience in managing multiple requisitions including exempt and non-exempt roles, preference given to specialized recruiting experience i.e. IT, life sciences, facilities, etc.
Knowledge of federal and state employment law as would normally be gained through academic or experiential preparation as outlined above
Knowledge of diversity, affirmative action and equal employment opportunity concepts as they apply in practice as would normally come through experience in recruiting noted above
Ability to assess and identify needs and develop creative strategies to implement effective recruitment plans
Ability to make oral presentations persuasively and influence the decisions of others as a result
Demonstrated talent assessment skills
Relationship management skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
