The Dining Services Manager team member assists with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by being responsible for the work of dining services staff involved in direct food preparation, production, service, and clean up operations; the overall quality of the food product and service to residents; ensuring sanitary conditions of work areas and equipment, and sanitary principles being followed in preparation and service of food; selection of recipes and menus, and providing for the nutritional and diet needs of residents.
Ability to verbally communicate well with residents, families, and staff members
Ability to read and understand task assignments, ability to report verbally and provide written documentation as required
Display of genuine concern for the elderly; a dependable, patient and compassionate attitude towards residents. Demeanor always respectful of residents' rights and wishes
Ability to cooperate and maintain respectful treatment with others. Sense of responsibility, maturity, diplomacy, and ability to work well with residents, families, and other staff members

Ability to perform assigned tasks based on ElderWood Core Values and to a high degree of excellence and cleanliness.
Bachelor of Science Degree, A.A.S. Degree in Food Services Administration, or accredited Food Services Manager Course preferred
Three years supervisory experience required
At least one year of experience in hospital, nursing home or health related food service operation preferred
Ability to supervise and direct others and to motivate personnel to work in close cooperation with one another required
Awareness of the importance of fulfilling residents' dining needs and preferences is required; ability to relate well with residents is necessary
Working knowledge of sanitary code requirements and safety measures involved in food service required
Knowledge in Microsoft Office Programs preferred
Computer skills to operate dietary software for food inventory and production preferred
High degree of personal cleanliness and good hygiene necessary; health status suitable for work in food services required
