An Automation Technician II will maintain the facilities Automated Storage & Retrieval System (AS/RS)consisting of HK4000X Storage and Retrieval Machines (SRM), Chain Driven Live Roller (CDLR) conveyors, (Drag) Chain Conveyors, Thru/In-Frame (Drag) Chain Transfers and Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRC), controlled by Allen-Bradley (AB) PLCs with RS Logix 5000 software and AB DeviceNet Distributed Network Control System motor starters, and will use the Human/Machine Interface (HMI) station during checkout, testing, troubleshooting and repairs of the automated equipment, maintain continuous system operation by adjusting, repairing, replacing, or modifying system components, troubleshoot all non-functioning electronic, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic subsystems and components, and return to full serviceability, perform scheduled in-depth preventive maintenance actions on all subsystems and related system equipment as directed, while maintaining the system in a fully functional and highly efficient running status.

Responsible for clean up of equipment and removal of replaced parts from work areas after repairs are completed.
Assist other maintenance team technicians in repairs of other equipment as required, consistent with level of experience and training.
Clear product spills in rack system as required.
Operate battery changing machine on an occasional basis.
Respond to facility Fire Sprinkler System activation and determine if initiated by fire or product damage; secure water flow to minimize product loss; direct responding fire fighters for fire.
Respond to electrical power loss by monitoring and starting the site emergency generators as required.
Maintain all systems and subsystems of the Automated Storage & Retrieval System.
Ensure rapid equipment return to serviceability by performing thorough in-depth troubleshooting on any non-functioning or faulted system, subsystem or component.
Keep maintenance supervisors informed by radio communications of specific problems and suggested actions, including approximate time required for repairs.
Must be proficient in the removal/replacement, reloading of software parameters, calibration and/or circuit tuning of the GE RS300 Line Regenerative Converter or AV 300 Motor Controller.
Troubleshoot and replace DeviceNet components of the SRM control system to include setting node numbers and running diagnostics.
Be able to remove/replace all mechanical parts of SRM including the drive/idler wheels and their correct alignment.
Will diagnose and replace as required Electronic Distance Measuring (EDM) devices including reprogramming and alignment.
Skilled in inspection and replacement of wire ropes.
Be able to replace all carriage mechanical/electrical parts and perform a full carriage alignment.
Be proficient in performing all Preventive Maintenance Inspection functions including: shuttle cleaning, lubrication and plate/chain alignment.
Be proficient in all conveyor maintenance including: repairing broken chain, replacing roller, realigning or replacing control system sensor (photo-eye), replacing drive motor, etc. on conveyors; resetting controller system, cleaning, adjusting or replacing sensors, troubleshooting, and/or replacing fuses or damaged components on SRMs.
Perform Preventive Maintenance (PM) actions on automated conveyor equipment as directed
Document repairs, PMs, parts usage, and time by completing work orders in a computerized maintenance data collection system (MicroMain).

Be proficient in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all mechanical, electrical and electronic components and subsystems of the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (AS/RS).
Must have a working knowledge of industry accepted electrical safety practices for testing energized circuits up to and including 480 VAC and 3 phase.
Must possess an excellent mechanical aptitude and be able to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems associated with SRMs and CDLR, Chain and VRC conveyors.
Will be able to read and interpret electrical/electronic schematics, mechanical diagrams and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns for troubleshooting and repairs, while understanding complex automated system drawings and component specification sheets.
Must have and display proficiency in using a multimeter with a minimum NFPA 70E safety rating of Cat III 600v.
Must have and maintain all hand and test tools required to maintain automated equipment e.g. replace rollers, drive motors, gearboxes, sprockets, airlifts, VFD's, and Line Regenerative Converters.
Must exhibit a thorough understanding of Allen Bradley PLC's, DeviceNet and ASI control circuits and be skilled in component testing and replacement.
Must be able to work at heights up to 110 ft (SRM height).
Will display total proficiency in the use of hand, power, and specialized measuring tools.
Should be familiar with AB Logix 5000, DeviceNet control network components and operation.
Will be able to analyze faults and troubleshoot systems using AB Powerflex, ABB, GE, and Reliance motor drives.
Must be competent in Microsoft Windows based computer operation for HMI control of automated equipment.
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in similar industrial automation systems.
Hold an Associates Degree or equivalent experience in electronics/mechatronics or equivalent field
Experience welding with stick or MIG a plus.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
