Southern Wine and Spirits of America, the nation'sleading distributor of wine and
spirits,is currently seeking to hire an experienced, senior level Business Continuity
professional to support the development of its nationwide Business Continuity
program.
Position Description
The Business Continuity Program Specialist will be responsible to provide hands-on
subject matter expertise in support of the development of the enterprise-wide Business
Continuity program. Reporting to the National Director of Business Continuity, this is a
highly visible position that will collaborate with staff at all levels of the organization in
rder to implement a disciplined, proactive and comprehensive Business Continuity
program that will enable Southern to effectively plan for and respond to any business
interruption event.
The responsibilities of this position include coordinating the design, development, maintenance, and testing of the Business Continuity plans for each critical functional area for each business operating division. This role includes being tactical in conducting organizational research; performing and evaluating business impact analyses and risk assessments; developing program policies, plans and procedures; coordinating testing and exercise activities; and providing training and awareness communications. In addition, this position will also support the build out of the corporate program support model which will provide the framework for a common enterprise approach for the governance, development, execution and sustainability of a nationwide Business Continuity program that will coordinate all business resumption, disaster recovery and incident response management activities.
Position Responsibilities
Partner with division management and organizational subject matter experts to develop detailed and comprehensive Business Continuity plans for each functional area within each business operating division. Conduct reviews, analyze requirements, write and update existing Business Continuity plans as required
For each operating division, monitor all project management activities to execute all phases of the full Business Continuity program lifecycle from program initiation thru operational status for all plans
Develop policies, procedures, templates, standards and documentation in support of the deployment, management and sustainability of each divisional program as well as for the centralized corporate Business Continuity program
Develop an in-depth understanding of the business processes, assets, facilities, responsibilities, and interdependencies of the organization
Perform risk analyses for each functional area to evaluate points of vulnerability, single-points-of-failure and identify risk avoidance and mitigation strategies
Create testing strategies to assess the operational readiness, viability and weaknesses of each plan
Coordinate staff training and facilitate Business Continuity outreach and awareness communications programs
Oversee the development, exercising and execution of crisis management plans including supporting the deployment of an enterprise-wide mass notification/crisis communications system/capability
Perform regular reviews and updates of all program materials in order to ensure that the quality and accuracy of all program documentation is maintained
Research and incorporate both industry and corporate best practices into the Business Continuity program methodology as appropriate
Perform continuous monitoring of program activities in order to identify areas of opportunity for improvement, cost reduction and enhanced operational efficiency
Assist with crisis management and Business Continuity program execution activities in the event of a business interruption by providing plan and program subject matter expertise
Maintain accurate and complete program performance metrics and develop management reports as necessary
Qualifications
Skills and Requirements
This position requires a highly-skilled and proven professional with hands-on Business Continuity program execution experience in a large, distributed corporate environment. In addition to having strong analytical, written, presentation and technical skills, the successful candidate must have the ability to build teams, establish credibility, evangelize the program, and communicate effectively within the organization and with external business partners.
Additional requirements for this position include:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery and Crisis Management
A Business Continuity professional certification is desirable (ex: Certified Business Continuity Professional - CBCP)
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable
Experience in a large-scale environment conducting business impact analyses and building comprehensive and detailed Business Continuity plans for facilities, processes, people and technology
Knowledge and experience in supply chain logistics, warehouse and distribution management is preferred
Extensive working knowledge of emergency management practices and the principles of the Incident Command System (ICS)
Disciplined program, project and time management skills with the proven ability to work in a cross functional, matrixed and diverse workforce environment
A self-starter, highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
Detail orientated and disciplined to solve complex problems with the ability to resolve issues and drive solutions that create win-win situations
Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast paced environment while ensuring the security, confidentiality and integrity of sensitive data
Excellent coaching, teaching and training skills that have the ability to easily convey program concepts, procedures and methodologies
Budget and contractor management skills
Flexibility to travel as required
Proficiency in working with the Microsoft Office tool suite
