Job Description
We are currently seeking aCommodity Manager Ifor our Tipp City, Ohio/Fort Wayne, IN facility.

The Commodity Manager I will identify, select, and manage North American suppliers for the Thermoprotector commodity, as well as other commodities, as assigned, in order to assure that products and services are delivered to the quality, cost and delivery performance levels required. This individual must be able to define, develop and articulate a successful commodity strategy that drives a supply base committed to deliver 100% quality parts, on time, with continued effort to reduce the total cost of the commodity. Additionally, the selected candidate will lead simplification in the assigned commodities and support simplification of the overall supply chain, as well as lead productivity initiatives. Where necessary, the successful candidate will engage the suppliers in consignment/VMI and cycle time reduction projects.

Other Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
o Sets the vision and strategy for the commodity - owns commodity
o Establishes and maintains globally competitive supply chains to support lean manufacturing
o Attain specific year to year cost productivity objectives
o Plans for and performs negotiations, including complex contracts, and determines most competitive solutions
o Develop sourcing projects to meet individual and team objectives
o Lead supplier performance reviews
o Manage supplier consolidation projects
o Supports e-sourcing as a valuable sourcing tool, where appropriate
o Supports e-commerce to optimize procurement process
o Utilizes current company business systems to maximize productivity
o Familiar with a variety of purchasing concepts and procedures
Required Skills
Minimum
Qualifications:
o Bachelors degree in Business, Technology or Engineering
o Negotiation skills and sourcing decision experience with a strong emphasis on Commodity management in a multi-divisional manufacturing environment
o Sound knowledge of sourcing fundamentals as well as designated commodity (ies)
o Proven track record of driving cost reduction, quality, and process improvements
o Strong program management and communication skills for interactions at all levels of the organization
o Minimum combination of 3-5 years finished goods sourcing and/or related sourcing experience
o Skilled in the use of ERP and database level systems
o Knowledgeable in the use of electronic collaboration tools
o Understand Business Law; Aware of International Law;
o Proficient in managing and/or leading multi-location/global projects
o Strong analytical and communication use of PC based tools with a focus on MS Access, Excel, Lotus notes and web based applications
o Global Awareness preferred - International travel, with experience in multi-region supply chain structured agreements
o Skilled in Analysis, Finance, Cash Mgmt., and Supply Chain - able to create should cost models and develop Total Cost of Ownership
o Ability to think and perform strategically
o Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including internationally (Asia, Mexico, India, US) if necessary
