The Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) International Security and Analysis Division is seeking a talented Information Technology professional who has strong Microsoft Windows system and server experience, computer hardware experience, and Microsoft SharePoint experience in an operational environment. This position requires a highly motivated and multifaceted individual who thrives on using a wide variety of skills to be part of a proactive, responsive and customer focused Secure Information Technology group supporting the Global Security Directorate (GSD) staff within the Oak Ridge Complex.

Major Duties/Responsibilities
The System/Network Administrator functions as part of an elite Information Technology team responsible for providing both server and system administration as well as computing systems support services in a primarily Microsoft Windows based secure environment. System administration services include but are not exclusive of user account creation and administration, application software and operating system maintenance and upgrades, system backups and restoration, as well as participate in periodic system security and functional testing on both unclassified and classified systems.

Server management will include management of Active Directory user accounts, computer accounts, and group accounts. Workstation management will include installation, configuration, troubleshooting hardware, operating systems and all installed applications. The ideal candidate will have operational Microsoft SharePoint and Virtual Machine experience plus will additionally apply sound knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, server and workstation management, troubleshooting of application errors, and will possess good interpersonal communications skills.
Job duties may require candidate to work at multiple sites within the DOE Oak Ridge Reservation. Candidate must be organized, motivated and be able to work with minimal guidance.

Additionally, interfacing with the Department of Energy Headquarters (DOE HQ), Other Government Agencies (OGA's), and other external customers to design, upgrade, maintain, and troubleshoot new and existing systems is required. Additional duties may require appointment as an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for one or more classified systems requiring interpretation, coordination, documentation, and application of information system security requirements and procedures. Other additional duties may include COMSEC Custodian, TEMPEST Coordinator, or Protected Transmission System (PTS) responsibilities.


Qualifications Required:
Associate's degree in computer science or related field and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in server and system administration in classified and unclassified networks is required. Demonstrated ability in strategic thinking and planning and experience supporting Local Area Network (LAN) infrastructure environments is required. Incumbent must possess superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to work as a team player. Must be organized, motivated and be able to work with minimal guidance.

To be considered, candidates must hold an active DOE L clearance or Top Secret (TS) clearance. In addition, candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance and obtain a Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance based on Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 704 requirements. Additionally, all employees of the Division are required to successfully complete an evaluation, including a Counterintelligence scope polygraph examination.

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field and up to three years of current, direct hands-on Information Technology network and active directory operations and management experience, knowledge of IP networking principles, Virtual Machine experience, and strong experience in troubleshooting workstation operating system and application issues is required. Microsoft SharePoint experience is highly desirable and will set the candidate
apart. Experience with DOE, DOD, ICD, and FISMA regulatory requirements is highly desirable. Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, and Exchange certifications are highly desirable. TEMPEST training and certification as well as COMSEC experience are highly desirable.

Additional Information:
This position is a Workplace Substance Abuse program (WSAP) testing designed position which requires passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in which employees are subject to being randomly selected for testing. The occupant of this position will also be subject to an ongoing requirement to report to ORNL any drug-related arrest or conviction or receipt of a positive drug test result.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
