Cinder Solutions is excited to announce a new opening for a Mask Design Engineer to fill a role for one of our direct clients in Hillsboro, OR. This position is full time and offers a full range of benefits including PTO and healthcare coverage.
Job Description and
Responsibilities:
Mask design for 14nm test-chip, developing silicon based optical components in order to solve the interconnect problems of the future.
We develop these components from concept through to demonstration and so we have optical designers who work closely with the layout engineer to layout the masks, then our fab partners process the designs. When the wafers come back we dice and assemble them and then they are characterized and refined.
The layout responsibilities entail careful communication with the optical researchers, creation of die level layouts 50 devices by drawing and importing data to create the optical devices in a collaborative atmosphere and then guiding the mask through tape-out and fab. The entire process requires constant input and communication with our fab partners as we better understand the fabrication process. We are currently looking for a mask designer to help us with the increased number of tapeouts that we are experiencing.
Required Skills/
Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have several years of experience using Cadence layout tools with good knowledge of hierarchical layout planning and at least 1 tapeout worth of experience.
- The candidate will be required to work in a diverse environment with several different optical research collaborators and so attention to detail, ability to work both alone and in a team setting and good communication ability are paramount.
- Significant expertise with Cadence Virtuoso layout tools and Calibre physical verification tools.
- Extensive knowledge of analog matching, RF parasitics, ESD, latch-up, IR drop, etc.
- Requires demonstrated proficiency in RF CMOS layout in 90nm or below designs.
- Experience with delivery of complex blocks for top level integration in a mixed signal environment.
