Officers will work an assigned shift and patrol an assigned area to observe any criminal activity, traffic violations or suspicious activity. Officers will investigate suspicious and criminal activity, traffic accidents and direct traffic as needed. Respond to citizen calls for police service. Makes arrests and detains violators when necessary. Prepares detailed reports, testifies in court and performs related work as required. Patrol their beat in a proactive manner to deter crime and build positive police-community relations. Patrol may be in marked or unmarked vehicle, on foot or bicycle. Other duties as assigned.
All applicants must pass a written Civil Service test, a physical assessment, drug screen/physical, polygraph, psychological and an extensive background investigation.
Must be a United States Citizen, 21 years of age; possess a valid drivers license, no felony convictions or convictions of any other crime that would indicate lack of good character.
30 semester college hours are required unless a waiver is given for those applicants that are certified as a law enforcement officer working in a law enforcement capacity or has 2 years of active duty military experience.
Salary $38386.00 - $48171.00
Holiday pay totaling $1919.32 is added to base salary

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
