Telecommunications Engineer

Duration: 6 Months (with a possibility of 2 years contract extension)
Specific responsibilities include:
Perform detailed equipment engineering for network augments. This includes developing all of the specifications required for installation forces to properly install, turn-up, inventory, and configure the equipment, obtaining appropriate management approvals, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring vendor delivery.
Ensure that work meets all applicable engineering, financial, planning, and operational standards
Acquire the necessary ROW, Building Access, structure, and duct/fiber leases necessary to enable the work in a timely and efficient manner
Develop Bill of Material and place orders for all rack and hardware requirements. Define cable requirements, create cable running lists, and order all cables.
Manage, input, and update central Network Inventory Database (i.e. ICON, COEP) to reflect new builds, adds, and decommissions.
Participate in FOAs for new technology deployments to verify process/system readiness and technical feasibility, and develop Application Standard to insure efficient, consistent future deployments.
Knowledge of Cisco router/switch commands.
Manage port request for ethernet and a sync connectivity for remote network management
Ability to troubleshoot connectivity.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent job-related experience, 5-6 years progressive, technical experience
Experience designing SONET and Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) systems and drawing complex system diagrams using CAD-based software is preferred.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
