Career Technical Training School is seeking a highly-motivated, professional, student-focused Employment Specialist to join the team of our successful education and training program. The Employment Specialist will develop partnerships with employers to support students training. Business partners will provide critical industry input to ensure cutting edge training for students as well as substantive internship experiences for students. The Employment Specialist will oversee internships, match students with employer partners, and assist with career placement to ensure short and long term job retention and earnings. Successful candidates will have the ability to work independently and collaboratively, have outstanding communication skills, and exercise integrity at all times.
Responsibilities include:
Plan, coordinate, and develop individualized career transition and placement plans.
Develop and oversee training and employment sites with local employers for student internships/work-based learning (WBL) and ensure WBL agreements are completed and on file. Conduct site visits.
Serve as liaison between employer and student.
Utilize community resources and refer students to other program areas, such as support services, transfers, extensions, and advanced programs, as needed.
Assess transition needs of students completing the program and coordinate referrals and support services.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in marketing, communications, counseling, or related field.
Two years experience working with youth, with one year experience in sales, marketing, or counseling related services.
Ability to use Microsoft Office programs such as work, excel, outlook and power point, at intermediate level.
Valid drivers license in state of residence with acceptable driving record.
Ability to successfully pass all background checks and drug tests that may be required.
Salary negotiable, depending on education, training, and experience.
