Duties: Analyze science and engineering data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems; analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve computer systems; formulate and define system scope and objectives for assigned projects; devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems such as computer equipment capacity/limitations, operating time, and results; prepare detailed specifications for planned programs; responsible for program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation; utilize knowledge of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming; and responsible for quality assurance review; improve operations by conducting systems analysis; translate high-level requirements into detailed technical designs; assist in component architecture design, software, and production evaluation and build recommendations; provide technical estimates for assigned programming tasks; design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications, including software infrastructure and development tools for current systems and applications; support and/or install software applications, infrastructure and development tools;participate in the testing process through unit testing and analysis of software; develop technical documents on software design that are optimized and flexible; responsible for program design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging and documentation; develop coding standards, educate team members in the coding standards, perform code reviews and code analysis.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical field, followed by five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in job offered or five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include: system software written in C+
using Windows 32 API; web services and support tools written in C# and ASP.net; SQL Server database design and development; source control using Subversion (SVN) and ClearCase; Object Oriented Programming concepts; testing, debugging and maintaining detailed instructions (programs) for computers; equating deployment strategies for multiple application platforms. Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.
