Summary:
You will be part of a team of professionals that are responsible for the build, upgrade, stability, maintainability and availability of Distributed Systems and Applications. This role primarily focuses on the automation of application installation and configuration in test and production environments - (RedHat Linux and windows)
Responsibilities:
Provide application and system environment support to business and systems development areas and assure the integrity, stability, maintainability and availability of system upgrades.
Identification, isolation, and resolution of production and non-production system problems, service requests and support processes.
Designs, develops and implements development, test and production environments to minimize operational problems and maximize availability of platforms
Respond to customer service requests and provide production support coverage.
Manage application and system infrastructure patch releases, including enhancements to current system functionality.
Work with other Business support groups to understand and implement changes with their assistance and within their guidelines.
Provides 7 X 24 on call support on a rotational basis
Provides technical support on complex problems
Assist team in selecting appropriate tools and techniques to deliver timely, accurate, and meaningful information from all aspects of the application.
Support infrastructure changes and communicate to developers the impact in their environments.
Contribute to and establish project plans for projects of moderate scope
Leading candidates will possess a working knowledge and skill level in the following:
Red Hat Linux, scripting design and development to automate processes, Automation Technologies (Jenkins, Chef, etc), DevOps tooling (uBuild, uDeploy, uRelease), websphere application server administration, java development
Proven analytic and troubleshooting skills
Strong service-oriented focus and a passion to achieve results.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
Application technology knowledge and experience in one or two areas
Full Project Life Cycle experience
Solid specific business knowledge through training and application experience
Understanding of technical architecture and the ability to recommend and make modifications and enhancements
Strong sense of ownership and willingness to take responsibility/accountability.
Experience in database concepts, data analysis, and support tools
Scripting or automation knowledge a plus
Working knowledge of one or more of the following:
General knowledge of Network concepts and basic troubleshooting methods.
