We have a new opportunity in our Nashville, TN office for an Industrial Water Operations Manager. When you join Brown and Caldwell you will enjoy a unique and welcoming culture. The Industrial Water (IW) Operations Manager will be responsible for:
Staff management and deployment of IW staff aligned across all geographies. Staff management will include development and retention of staff as well as project and intentional deployment assignments of existing staff. In this capacity you will be responsible for recruitment and on-boarding of new IW staff.
Management and analysis of the IW opportunity pipeline to ensure that data is up to date, complete and accurate and using the data to define location, duration and staffing needs by type(e.g. PMs, technologist, senior consultants, design, O&M).
Primary IW point of interface with the project management organization (PMO), design services group (DSG) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) to coordinate workload and staff needs and assignments for IW projects.
Additional Job Expectations:
Promote, communicate and drive the IW strategy and tactics to achieve the stated business goals.
Help create an enterprise-wide IW team and culture where resources are deployed to maximize and balance benefit to the individual and the company.
Help breakdown stove piped groups and/or practices that constrain the growth of the company's IW business.
Use intentional deployment of individual staff in an effort to contribute to their growth and development, and in doing so, increase the capabilities of the company.
Maximize use of digital tools and information to improve management systems and practices, making the IW service line more efficient.
Ability and willingness to project manage select client projects.
Identify, develop and transition (at an agreed upon time) two potential successors for your position.
Desired Skills and
Experience:
BS and MS in civil, environment or chemical engineering.
15
years of experience in the Industrial Water business in an engineering company environment.
Skilled in the development and use of digital tools and systems and with the creation of management systems for business operations.
Ability to develop, lead and effectively communicate with groups and teams.
Internal and external project management skills and experience.
