Purchasing Agent / Estimator
Our Atlanta team is looking for a Purchasing Agent. Reporting to our Purchasing Manager, this position is responsible for estimating and cost maintenance for new and existing products according to Ryland Homes' quality standards while adhering to budgets and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key
Responsibilities:
o Ensure budgets are consistent with the market rate.
o Coordinate/estimate the cost and bidding of new and existing products.
o Maintain all back-up data for plans and ensure all estimating documentation, plans and sales brochures are current.
o Maintain all budget changes and variances. Ensure departments are notified timely.
o Set up and maintain costs in the system.
o Identify and implement cost-saving techniques, materials and procedures.
o Identify and meet potential Ryland subcontractors and suppliers.
o Coordinate field and product changes with Homebuilding staff.
Job Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree required.
o Some experience in high-volume production homebuilding.
o Solid negotiation skills.
o PC and software literate. JD Edwards experience helpful.
o Strong organizational skills, including planning, scheduling and follow-up capabilities.
o Excellent oral and written communication skills.
o High detail orientation.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
