Summary:The Food Service Representative, under the direct supervision of the Food Service Manager at Swain County Hospital, will be responsible for developing and preparing hot food and cold food according to recipes and production sheets for patients, employees, physicians and visitors and volunteers, following safe food handling guidelines established by department. This position will also be responsible for cafeteria and patient food preparation as well as other job related duties.
Education:High School Graduate or equivalent preferred, must be able to read and understand verbal instructions.
Experience: Food Service experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:Must have the ability to push/pull carts up to 300 lbs., must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs. chest high, exposure to change of temperature - freezer (-10 F) and refrigerators (40 F) and be able to stand for long periods of time. Corrected vision and hearing to within normal ranges.
Working Environment:Hospital rooms, clinical department, hospital ground and the surrounding community. Potential exposure to patient who may be physically or verbally abuse. Potential exposure to communicable diseases. This position requires use of gloves, back safety belts and/or hair restraints.
For HR Use:Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
