Purpose of Position
Serve as the GPO pricing interface to PLM; develop and maintain product specific pricing strategies and information; coordinate product-related PLM inquiries; support other product-specific pricing needs.
Major Responsibilities
Facilitate/create and maintain pricing strategies for specific product set (primarily COC OSP, FR, and drop cable products) that tie to overall product strategy, to include product specific details (e.g. detail beyond overall product line), customer/market considerations, competitive environment, relationships between spot, project and contract bids, and any relationships to other Corning products (e.g. pull through vs lead product)
Determine new product pricing (and specific price adjustments) in alignment with launch plans of new products. Work with relevant PLMs, Commercial and appropriate GPO team members to get pricing loaded in the system and available for commercial use
Be aware of upcoming/potential product changes and determine any associated price adjustments that should be implemented in conjunction with the product change; support other PCN efforts as required
Ensure implementation of product strategy (process and systems as applicable) in alignment with overall 5yr/1yr PLM plan and strategy metrics of COC cables
Provide pricing/profitability analysis as required: evaluate impact of potential product changes, impact for potential material cost changes, impact of potential volume/share changes
Gather, vet, and disseminate competitive pricing intelligence related to assigned products (information must be converted to useful form for the rest of the organization)
Maintain expertise on competitors pricing and strategies including competitive price data for use by pricing personnel for pricing events; work with competitive intelligence team as required (supplier and receiver of information)
Coordinate product-related PLM inquiries (from Customer Service and Sales), especially regarding minor product modifications
Working with PLM and the appropriate RPO team, determine price adjustments based on capacity considerations and where appropriate, implement in our pricing systems
Analyze past quote data combined with current market knowledge to determine appropriate floor pricing level
Participate in Game Theory exercises as required
In conjunction with supply chain and Regional Pricing Office, incorporate current lead-time and capacity considerations into project quotes to balance capacity utilization and maximize profit/cash flow
In conjunction with Product Managers and RPOs, determine those items and services that customers value and are willing to pay for over and above standard practices; utilize this information to enhance profitability and maintain/grow shareRequired Skills
Strong analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative) with ability to see the big picture as well as the individual details
Knowledge of or demonstrated ability to learn Corning Optical Communications products and commercial groups, strategies and processes
Strong systems background focusing on MS Office products (especially Excel), SAP, and reporting
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English and with graphical displays of information
Ability to work in and price diverse products in a highly competitive market
Professional pricing certification or willingness to become certified
Education:-
4-year degree required, MBA a plus
Experience :-
Ability to articulate, support and defend strategy and decisions from senior management
Experience leading cross-functional groups without being actual supervisor

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
