The engineer will be responsible for determining the technical direction of projects involving optics and mechanical systems. He/she will have the ability to integrate and develop the companys resources in these areas. This is an outstanding opportunity to work and grow with a leader in medical optics solutions.
Principle Engineer
o Optics or opto-mechanical
o Direct the technical activities of the engineering department
o Domain master in optics and/or endoscopes
Optical Engineer
o Design geometrical optics systems, or work with outside designers
o Serve as systems architect for optical imaging systems
o Interact with mechanical and electrical designers
o Medical imaging
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability and advanced knowledge in medical product design and development
Demonstrated success in leading product development projects from concept through commercialization
Ability to work with, mentor, and direct engineers and technicians
Knowledge and skill as a recognized technical expert in opto-mechanical engineering and the ability to be a technical resource company-wide
Understanding of ISO 9001/13485 and FDA requirements
Excellent analytical, project management, technical, customer service and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking, planning/organization skills
Comfortable in multi-tasking in a high-energy environment
Education and experience required:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Optical Engineering disciplines; MS or PhD preferred.

years related opto-mechanical experience
Experience working in medical device design and development
Experience in leading the design of complex opto-mechanical systems, from concept to production
Experience working with small/micro opto-mechanical designs having very tight tolerances
The most qualified candidate will be an expert in the following areas:
o Precision mechanical engineering
o Precision optical engineering
o Medical device developmentEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
