Eaton, located in Jackson, MI, is looking for a Materials Planning Supervisor to enthusiastically lead the Jackson Plant in our continuous improvement journey. The Materials Planning Supervisor will be responsible for managing key materials related functions such as materials planning, scheduling and ordering activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products. Responsibilities include customer service activities associated with the delivery of specific customer products, managing direct materials planning personnel in the receipt, utilization, and inventory of material to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders while maintaining assigned inventory levels. Is expected to train and educate direct reports on the use of various business systems, varieties of reports and other related tools to ensure timely and economical completion of customer requirements.
The successful candidate:
A. Manages current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements. This person will lead their respective teams in these processes.
B. Ensures required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to allocate, purchase, internally manufacture or reschedule material as required
C. Assists in Expediting material, where required, to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements
D. Analyzes data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure plant/product line optimal supply chain execution
E. Ensures correct planning parameters are utilized in order execution systems (such as MFGPro) to ensure proper order generation
F. Manages material cost and schedule impact of proposed engineering changes in addition to taking necessary actions to ensure successful implementation and incorporation of approved engineering releases
G. Analyzes and manages aggregate inventory levels in relation to customer requirements to meet profit and inventory targets and goals
H. Arranges for the sale of scrap, obsolete, surplus materials and by-products in order to minimize excess material
I. Evaluates operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
J. Reviews and manages non-conforming material processes within the planning team
K. Supports and promotes continuous improvement activities within the planning team and the plant
L. Oversee demand information and pick list creation to ensure the on-time delivery of customer orders.
M. Manage Order Confirmation process.

Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements)

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
Minimum of three (3) years of Supply Chain experience - scheduling, production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving
This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ''Green Card Holder''), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
POSITION CRITERIA:
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams
Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills necessary to converse with diverse group of stakeholders including senior management, manufacturing production/operations, and Supply Chain Management personnel.
PREFERRED
Qualifications:
Undergradute degree in Supply Chain
Master's degree from an accredited institution
Application experience in Lean Concepts and APICS Certification
Previous working experience in a manufacturing environment
Full knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
Thorough understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving
Detailed knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
Proven use of rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions
