Inpatient Admin Staffing Specialist (OnCall / 12 Hr Shifts)

Ensures a sufficient number of qualified staff are on duty at all times to meet patient care and support services needs in collaboration with the Hospital Administrative Supervisor to maintain cost-effective staffing.
Essential Functions:
- Meets staffing needs of the assigned departments by coordinating and assigning available resources in collaboration with Department Managers according to matrix, census, and special needs.
- Tentatively works to staff next shift and through four week period simultaneously.
- Documents all changes in daily staffing accurately in ANSOS/One Staff database, on staffing sheets, and in report.
- Gathers documentation for Medical-Legal, Nurse Managers, and Administration related to member concerns, budget/financial inquiries, legal action, grievances and/or arbitration.
- Produces schedules and monthly reports accurately and within specified time frames in collaboration with Nurse Managers.
- Maintains accurate employee information in database.
- Receives, reviews and processes employee scheduling requests based on contractual guidelines.
- In a combined effort, represents the KSMC Staffing Office to Human Resources.
- Processes all employee new hire information from Regional, termination, transfer, and LOA paperwork
- Communicates via e-mail with Information Security any action necessary.
- Completes all agency scheduling.
- Interprets contract language surrounding pay practices and KSMC contract incentives and to advise and problem solve with management and employee payroll issues.
- Prepares and distributes required reports.
Qualifications:
Basic
Qualifications:
- Minimum two (2) years of recent clerical experience required.
- Two (2) years of college or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of office procedures.
- Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to access and use various data sources simultaneously.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and conflicting demands for service simultaneously.
- Ability to make and communicate decisions and take action in high-pressure situations with tact, diplomacy and respect.
- Able to read/write/speak English fluently.
- Effective verbal and listening skills, especially in telephone communications.
- Demonstrates customer-focused service skills.
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Two (2) to five (5) years of clerical experience preferred.
- Keyboarding experience preferred.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Knowledge of HR practices preferred.
- Knowledge of hospital staffing systems preferred.
- Familiar with Union contracts preferred.
- ANSOS, Microsoft Excel, Word preferred.
- Detail oriented and self motivated preferred.
External hires must pass a background check/drug screen.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
