The IT Project Manager (PM) role at Asurion is responsible for organizing and managing technology initiatives within a program or portfolio within limited/minimal guidance.
The ideal PM candidate must demonstrate proficiency in primary project management knowledge areas as well as demonstrate technology skills in Infrastructure, Application Development or Business proficiency in Insurance, Supply Chain or Call Center areas.
PRIMARY
Responsibilities:
o Manage full project lifecycle from initiation/envisioning through deployment.
o Organize work breakdown schedules and critical path in completing required scope on a published timeline and within program standards.
o Create project schedules, track tasks, assign resources, monitor costs using project management toolset
o Ensure project milestones are achieved within planned time, budget, and performance expectations
o Manage project scope and track changes including appropriate communication and approval
o Track and manage risks and issues including appropriate communications or approval
o Coordinate project meetings with both IT and business stakeholders; document and distribute meeting minutes and track action items
o Consolidate project status updates and facilitate status review meetings
o Compile/mine data from multiple sources to create operational dashboards; identify outliers/risks based on data and escalate to leadership as needed
o Provide consolidated view of overall portfolio budget and forecast
o Manage program staffing model(s) and execute required onboarding tasks
o Build trusting relationships and credibility with key operational executives, teaming with functional experts
Project Management Skills
o Develop and Implement detailed project plans, manage project milestones.
o Management of project resources assigned to activities/tasks.
o Ability to provide clear, concise project status reporting.
o Ability to work in and understand different software delivery methodologies; Agile, SCRUM and Waterfall (MSF)
o Manage program or project change in accordance with the change management plan to control scope, quality, schedule, cost, and contracts.
o Financial Management - ability to manage the technology operating cost and report to management.
Professional Skills
o Ability to multi-task and proactively take ownership of deliverables within a complex, matrixed organization
o Ability to effectively organize and delegate work to multi-disciplined teams (staff and vendors).
o Motivate working teams to use appropriate tools and techniques in order to increase commitment and increase certainty in meeting work and critical path obligations.
o Experience or exposure to Service Level Agreements (SLA's) and managing performance against SLA's.
o Experience in developing and managing to Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
o Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding at all levels of the organization
o Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills required
o Demonstrate leadership in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Qualifications
o BA/BS degree, preferably in Computer Sciences, Business Administration, Engineering or related disciplines
o Minimum of 3-5 years IT Project Management - managing complex, technology projects.
o Strong skills in project management tools such as MS Project, Clarity, JIRA, or similar software
o Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio)
o PMP certification preferred
