Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join their D.C. area team. This Individual will play a critical role in the planning, scheduling, monitoring and execution of projects. Primary job responsibilities include: understanding the scope, schedule, budget, conditions, while scheduling resources, monitoring task completion, serving as the day to day point of contact for business users, managing expectations, deliver project on time and budget. This person will be responsible for success of all projects and will focus on a legacy system modernization effort.
-Apply project management methodology and enforce project processes and standards
-Identify project needs, define team roles, and ensure healthy team dynamics
-Lead, coach, and motivate team members
-Coordinate the efforts of team members form multiple groups into a coordinated project effort
-Ensure documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately
-Proactively identify project issues and risks and create action plans for resolving issues and mitigating risks while minimizing the projects exposure to risk
-Track and report project progress to management, project team, and stakeholders
-Develop deep understanding of stakeholders objectives and requirements
Required:
-Bachelor's degree (Masters/MBA strongly preferred) in technical field
-10
years of experience managing large scale, complex IT projects
-Hands on experience managing legacy modernization projects
-Demonstrated history of delivering complex projects
-Experience developing multi-year project schedules and managing large project budgets
-Proficient with MS Office including Visio
-Strong working knowledge of PMI standards and PMBOK
-Proficient in the use of SDLC methodologies
-Must be able to interact and communicate with all levels of an organization
-Strong team leadership
-Ability to influence, motivate, build and mobilize teams
Preferred:
-Master's degree or MBA
-PMP Certification

-Strong presentation skills
-Sound business and technology acumen
-Ability to be flexible and adjust on the fly
-Excellent problem-solving
-Expert command of both written and verbal communication skills
