The Manager of Telecom Operations will be responsible for the following:
Responsible for a team of 2-3 providing enterprise telecom services including PBX, mobile, and fax, for two diverse business lines
A strong candidate for this position will have extensive telecom support experience and be skilled at vendor & contract management, telecom expense management, and mobile management.
The Manager of Telecom Operations must have the following skills:
Manage vendor relationships with carriers and service providers including AT&T, Verizon, Granite, MetTel, Carousel, Thing5, etc
Set telecom strategy and vision including technical and fiscal direction, analysis & reporting, as well as vendor selection.
Project manage small to mid-size projects such as telecom spend analysis & reduction recommendations, standardization of hotel PBX deployment, CloudPBX implementation, etc
Review & summarize Telecom-related contracts advising on risk avoidance and pricing strategy.
Create and manage Telecom budget for each of the two business lines.
Establish team processes & procedures to maintain efficient operations.
Demonstrate transparency into team productivity and work yield through creation and presentation of monthly operational reports to upper management.
Oversee the management of the Telecom ticketing queue to ensure daily operational issues/request are addressed within expected service level commitments.
Vigilantly manage our outsourced mobile support & procurement relationship with the incumbent vendor, Tangoe.
Review and approve Telecom work invoices and act as an internal escalation point for billing discrepancies.
Actively manage and develop staff members.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
The Manager of Telecom Operations must meet the following
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree preferred, plus 5-7
years' experience working with Telecommunications
Minimum 3 years' management of staff and budget.
Strong analytical & expense management skills.
Demonstrated experience managing carrier, service and support vendors.
Demonstrated experience with contract management.
Demonstrated experience managing a telecom operations department.
Demonstrated experience defining and implementing operational standards and metrics.
Comfort with prioritizing in a complex, diverse environment with competing demands.
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
